Scared into Silence

August 23, 2007 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Blogging, Gratitude, Keeping It Real, Minnesota Me 16 Comments

I don’t know who it was that submitted my Mary story to Spirit Daily, but either that site has a lot of readers or my stats have gone completely mad.

I don’t know what to say.

Literally.

If you are a new visitor to my blog, well, welcome!

If you’re an old friend and perhaps even a fellow blogger, say a prayer for me. I have been totally and utterly distracted by it all.

Which is nonsense, if you think about it.

If you write about Mary, they will come.

That’s as it should be. Ad majoram Dei gloriam, and to His mother, too.

Still, I have needed to find a way to keep my head from spinning completely off its axis. A little manual labor sounded good. The girls and I decided to profit from the one hour of sunshine that we have had in the past six days to—yes, we are legally insane—wash the van.

Believe it or not, it was dirty! How does a van get dirty after sitting in the rain all week?

And why isn’t our van in the garage, where it belongs?

Don’t ask. I’ll never tell.

Let’s just say that my father is a neat freak and he is always scandalized by our garage when he comes to visit.

And is it manual labor for me if I’m the one taking the pictures?

Stop asking me these mean questions! I mean it, now. You’re my guest. : )

I’m going to go have a beer now.

I have been waiting all day for you to post!! 🙂 I wanted to tell you, especially if you have so many new readers, you should not post pictures of your license plates…just to be safe! Our sunshine just came out, within the half hour, we are going out soon!!

What license plates? You mean the ones that the girls just scrubbed
    off? 🙂

Ha! Good for you. With the liscense plates and with the all the traffic. I hadn’t thought about plates. Wish the world weren’t quite so dangerous and we didn’t have to quite so much. How was the movie? Did you make it?

Worry. That we didn’t have to worry quite so much. My brain is faster than my fingers.

Good for you! It is a beautiful story. But I’m sure the extra traffic comes from the link at my blog LOL.

Elizabeth, you’re cute! Thank you for the link.

Jennie: So you saw my comment over at Jen’s blog, huh? We did indeed make it to Ratatouille this afternoon; I just didn’t have any cute photos from the outting. 😉

First, your Marian story was beautiful. Second, those girls are absolutely adorable! Third, it does heaven good to have you more “known” by the world. Wonderful!

    Margaret,
I have just spent the most delightful hour or so (I lost all sense of time) with you. I read everything that shows up on the right side of your page. So now I am all caught up and ready to go on a daily basis. I am sending this blog to my dear friend Gwen who, like you, is also a homeschooling mom. She will love it.
I homeschooled my son for a few years when he was in middle school. He is getting ready for college now.
I came here from Spirit Daily and I am so glad I did.
Thank you for an enjoyable time. In His Love and Her Heart…

    Kristen commented:
“First, your Marian story was beautiful.”

Yes, it was! I think your son may be headed for the priesthood. 🙂

and then she commented: “Second, those girls are absolutely adorable!”

    Yes, they are!

And finally, she summed up my comments for me by commenting,
“Third, it does heaven good to have you more ‘known by the world.”

Yes, it does! 🙂 Have a blessed day!

To Heather & dani MarieBernadette: thank you for your kind words!

To Karen: I love your new photo!

To Paula: We can’t wait to meet our new puppy. What are we getting ourselves into? Only time (and this blog) will tell!

What pretty girls. Daughter #1 looks so much like your husband and daughter #2 is like your clone Margaret. #3 must be a mix.

I have not figured out how popular my blog is, but I know it doesn’t have the hits yours does.

Love your writing, but especially your heartfelt honesty.

Hey … I just figured out the sitemeter thing.

WOW! It can be a little too much info for my knowledge, but I am just a little curious.
