I Am Not Who You Think I Am

July 11, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me 19 Comments

I interrupt this blog for an important announcement.

The Artist Formerly Known as Margaret and Then Maggie and Now Margaret Again has checked out. Mentally.

I’m not kidding.

I have no empirical evidence to prove it, but personally I believe that this whole blog identity thing finally cracked her. Let’s be honest, she has been teetering on the edge for quite a while now, and most of us could see it coming. It was only a matter of time, and this was simply the final straw.

In addition to being mentally unstable, Margaret is also incredibly smart, and she knows when it is time to step away from the keyboard for a few days. She wisely listens to and obeys that Voice when it calls her.

However, in addition to being both mentally unstable and incredibly smart, Margaret is highly conscientious and more than a wee bit prideful. She knew that she made a little promise to all of us a few days ago, and she did not want to break it. Due to circumstances beyond her control (ie real life), she also knew that she could not keep it. So she did the next best thing in her mind.

She called me to bail her out.

Yesterday Margaret asked me if I would be a guest on her blog today, to explain her absence, apologize on her behalf for that broken promise, and then add my own fresh thoughts. Being a person who deeply loves TAFKaMaTMaNMA and cares about her well-being as well as her blog stats, I said…….

No way. I’ve got my own life to lead.

But then she offered me a big wad of cash and I realized the tantalizing potential of having access to her username and password. So here I am.

Sort of.

The problem is that, while Margaret is an early morning poster, I do my writing at the other end of the day. My Friday posts are your Saturday reads. I know that I should have written my post last night, but circumstances beyond my control (ie real life) got in the way until right now. Being a person who likes to keep my promises (unlike some people), I offer you this post today to let you know that my real post will be here tomorrow.

Have you figured out who I am yet? Since we all know how much Margaret loves comments and will go to any groveling length to solicit them, I’m going to follow her lead and invite you to leave your guess in the comment box. The first person to guess correctly will receive a lifetime subscription to both this blog and my own.

If you don’t really care who I am and are more than slightly peeved to come here looking for Margaret and find me instead, check back in a few days. I’m hoping and praying she’ll be refreshed and refocused and out of blog rehab by then.

    Hi, Diane.

I think I’m the winner, but I don’t want the blog subscriptions. I want that bag I tried to win the other day.

My guess is that this is actually Maragaret’s alter ego, Maggie in Minnesota. Nothing like a good plot twist to drum up a few more comments, right? šŸ™‚

Karen, I am flattered. I was actually going to guess you.

If it’s not you, then I guess Sybil, one of Margaret/Maggie/Greta’s other personalities. I think she may be trying to trick us.

Or you, Karen, may be trying to trick us by leaving a guess, thereby diverting attention from yourself. In which case I should guess Karen E.

    Hmmmm……

The “three faces of Margaret” I presume.

While I am already a reader but never a commenter, may I humbly say I think it is the ever witty Red Cardigan of And Sometimes Tea? Maggie/Margaret you are in our prayers.

Is it John – he doesn’t have a blog, but it sounds like someone awfully close to Margaret.

I’m not the guest blogger, Michelle.

Can’t guess who it might be, either!

I at first thought you were John, Maggie’s Hubby, but then you said you were a blogger….I’m pretty sure he isn’t a blogger.

SO my guess is Nutmeg…didn’t you bail Maggie out one other time? I think she was on vacation in Hawaii, right?

PS, I really like that part about Prince, that was great!! haha!

Margaret, even though you aren’t blogging, I’m sure you will be checking, because I know you pretty well, I think, so enjoy the break. I pray it is good for your soul. Care to join in a 3rd St Louis de Montfort consecration this year? It starts Sunday and ends on the Assumption!

I guess that it is the part of Margaret that has not finished the last part of her conversion story. The “Procrastinator” . I’ve had a difficult few days myself Margaret. Analyzing our lives is not always an easy thing. God Love You!

Well, these comments keep ruling out all my guesses. Like Karen, at first I was sure it was Diane. Then I thought Red Cardigan. Or Nutmeg. Or Jamie.

    Stumper!

    OK. New guess.

It really is Margaret (er, Maggie) posting in absentia…

    Do we get a prize??

It’s not me. I am up to my ears in home improvement projects and barely have time to post to my own blog. I was going to guess Jennie C. but I guess not since she posted here, unless… she’s trying to fool us!

I think I’m going to go with a totally off the wall guess and say Danielle Bean? That is, if it isn’t her husband or really herself. Ahhhhhhh! Can’t decide!!!!

No, it’s not me. Margaret obviously doesn’t love ME enough to share her password. *sniff sniff*
