….but I always take lots of stuffing!
You Are The Stuffing |
You’re complicated and complex, yet all your pieces fit together. People miss you if you’re gone – but they’re not sure why. |
One of my favorite memories from Thanksgiving Day is watching my father stuff the turkey. He makes the most delicious dressing I’ve ever tasted, with little bits of celery, onion, and (the very best part in our French-Canadian family) lots & lots of chopped-up gizzard. We kids always fought over the gizzard, believe it or not, so on Thanksgiving he cooked a whole package and added it to the mix. Oh my goodness, it was heavenly.
So yeah. I am honored to be the stuffing if it means that I am anything like my dear old dad.
With a loving nod to one of my favorite bloggers, Theresa,

Your dad’s stuffing sounds just like my mom’s stuffing and even though we were mostly Czech, we fought for the gizzard as well. What exactly is a gizzard anyway or do I want to know?

I have to say, that description of you is dead-on. And I love stuffing!
I have memories of my dad’s stuffing too. It does sound like yours, but it came straight from Betty Crocker. I still make it. Err, I mean, Jim still makes it. 🙂
Happy Tuesday, Mags!

My cousin and I used to fight over the gizzard every Thanksgiving, too! Now we let the oldest of the next generation get that prized turkey part. But we still secretly compete over who can eat the most rolls and still have room for one piece of every pie for dessert!

Margaret, you are the best part of Thanksgiving dinner! 🙂

This avatar is just for you, Marge.
And now I’ve got to go and change it because I’m getting dizzy.
PS Thanks for the sweet comment. (That’s my not-so-sneaky way of luring your readers to my blog. Heh heh heh.)

…and to think I’m the cranberry sauce!!! A little sweet, a little sour – LOL!

I am mashed potatoes but would much rather be the mysterious stuffing. 🙂

Funny, I’m “stuffing”, too, and though the description may be accurate, I don’t really like stuffing – but my husband loves it ;). My favorite Thanksgiving dishes are the sweet potatoes and (sorry) the cranberry sauce. I could eat cranberry sauce year-round!

As a wife of a French-Canadian I have to serve all sorts of innards– and I find I have acquired a taste for the gizzard! 🙂
I love hearing about your parents.

I’m the stuffing too apparently… lol.
