Making a Clean Sweep for Spring!

March 31, 2016 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Gratitude, Hearth & Home, Reviews 5 Comments

Or: That Time these People Saved my Space

White Lotus Cleaning

When Eric Rogers, owner of White Lotus Cleaning in Minneapolis, emailed to ask if I’d like a free spring cleaning in exchange for a review, I didn’t hesitate:

“Oh, no thank you, Mr. Rogers. When it comes to cleaning I am IN CONTROL.”

And  Eric was all like, “April Fool’s?”

And my husband was like, “GIVE ME THAT KEYBOARD. Yes! My wife says YES! ”

Seriously, guys?

I’ve never been so happy to see  a bunch of people’s backs.

They even dusted our grandfather clock, which I haven’t done since…

White Lotus V

Which I haven’t done.

In my defense, we used to have a cleaning service (way back when…when we had that delightfully elusive commodity called cash…)  and I got spoiled and/or lazy and/or too caught up in our current read-aloud to really care about the stovetop.

Correction: I do care but lack a few daily habits, like cleaning as I go and staying on top of the splatters.

Enter Eric and his assistant cleaners, Sarah and Phoebe.  They showed up on time and rolled up their sleeves (figuratively speaking), pausing only to pet the puppy when I took him out for a walk. They were focused, friendly, hard-working, young.

Oh, to be young and have that kind of elbow grease again!

In short, they did an amazing job using non-toxic cleaners, (I liked that part), and in three hours’ time tackled a winter’s worth of mess.*

Doesn’t my kitchen look sparkly clean?

Look at our stove! The microwave! The counters!!

*A “winter’s worth” in this case is a symbolic reference. My “winter” is probably a bit…longer than most.

“You know,” Eric remarked when he saw me snapping photos. “I was just thinking we should have taken ‘before’ photos!”

This tray was scary before they got to it. Not only are they young, they’re brave!

Our half bath was so CLEAN when they finished! A proper powder room, worthy of Lady Mary!

And I was thinking, “Such a pity we didn’t!”

(Hashtag: pride.)

So a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Eric and crew, and TWO THUMBS’ UP to White Lotus Cleaning. They are a local company with very reasonable prices. They are friendly, efficient and did an excellent job.

This mess-making mom is extremely grateful, and ready to push up some sleeves of her own.

Spring Cleaning Special:  For now until the end of April, receive 20% off a one-time clean.

Just call Eric at 612-260-2399 and mention this review.

Awesome! I’d hire them if I lived up there! My cleaners come tomorrow. Better go pre-clean. 🙂

Thanks Margaret! Loved your review. I just might think about using them or possibly even cleaning myself. Your sparkly home is an inspiration. P.S. I’m glad you didn’t get sucked up. 🙂

After my evening prayers wanted to thank you for the changes made to your site. The White Lotus Cleaning post was very pleasing and I pray for the success of their Cleaning Service.

Your thirty-day tasks are long-done, isn’t the current fifty-day task going to be accomplished on Pentecost so we can hears from you that your family is well.
