The Scoop

November 20, 2013 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Current Affairs, Keeping It Real, Minnesota Me, Prayer 18 Comments

[and an ardent request for prayers]

“You can do it, Mom!”
“No, I can’t!”
“Yes, you can!”

A year ago, I reviewed “Got Milk?” Magic Straws on this blog. A few DAYS ago, the same people that asked me to do the review asked if I wanted to talk about Magic Straws (and some other stuff) on KARE 11 news @ 4:00 TODAY.

“No way,” I thought. “Way WAY out of my comfort zone.”

And then my 14-year-old looked at me and said, “YOLO, Mom.”

Comforted, I smiled back at him…and then I was like “Huh?”

“You only live once,” he said.

So here I go…living my one life…and if you could please PLEASE spare a prayer today, I would be grateful. Pray, in general, that we ALL might be salt & light in a world that needs it, and pray, specifically, that I don’t go all Deer-in-a-Headlight once the cameras start rolling.

“Break a leg, Mom!” Cate enthused, then added, “Wouldn’t it be funny if you really did?”

Yes, Cate. That’d be HILARIOUS.

With love in Him, and thanks in advance,

It's great you've got a crowd cheering you one in a world where most kids would be like, "oh no Mom…this will be embarrassing" You've raised them well! I'll be saying some prayers for you…and break a leg (figuratively ONLY!)

Slow, deep breathing and some prayers — it'll get you through the nerves before. Then you'll be all set!

You'll be lifted by prayers from all over too. (Note to self: Check time difference from NJ to MN….for extra prayers for peace and strength from the Holy Spirit for Margaret!)

    Bless you!

Just got down watching your segment! You did GREAT! Loved the ideas. The ice cream mashed potatoes was such a cute idea and super easy. I thought your banter with Diane was very casual and you seemed very comfortable with her.

And the YOLO shout out was super cute. šŸ™‚
    Again, GREAT job!!!

You survived! You didn't have the chance to explain magic straws, though. I thought you were doing a review of them on the air. YOLO!

You did a great job, Margaret. Just like a pro! You had some great ideas, too. Might try that mashed potatoes when for my son that abhors all forms of potatoes. Think I could trick a 14 year old? šŸ˜‰

You did wonderfully! Just natural and about making food fun for the kids (and sneaking a little nutrition in when they're not looking!).

Not sure I'm going for baking turkey into the muffins though! šŸ˜‰

I hope you're aware of how much much this may be part of your calling — even if it is outside your comfort zone! I wish they'd have included your blog name or a link on their site. More traffic never hurts!
