Vol. XXVIII for Me
Hey! Remember me? I’m the lady who used to post daily!
Oh dear. You’ve forgotten her.
Well, I may not have been blogging regularly but I sure have been productive. For example, I’ve updated my Facebook status 730 times! And left comments for 842 friends!
Is that applause for my efforts that I hear?
I like applause.
The truth is, there have been many to-do’s that were not getting done. The real to-do’s are boring, though, and I am so above boring you.
In other news, my husband’s gone to pick up the boys at camp. Reunited! And it feels so good.
Of course that means more middle management for me.
And that’s a lot of m’s but I think I can handle it.
In other, other news, I have taken to walking around the house with my shirt pulled up over my belly. (No worries—I don’t do this out in the yard or at Target.)
I tell the kids that like this, the baby can see out my belly button.
Like a peephole.
Let me ask you something. If you had the chance to work really, really hard for about month, and in exchange for your hard work you’d get an iPad?
Don’t tell my husband that I’m asking you this. He is totally a PC guy.
Tonight, of course, is the big, big night for the folks in London. We are having a honorary meal of fish n’ chips–HT: my friend Tina–and are curled up in front of the ceremony.
What’s more, you’ll be impressed to know, I’m writing these Quick Takes during the commercial breaks. Are you impressed? I am totally dedicated! I am a blogging athlete.
Did I mention my big boys are coming home tomorrow? And not a minute too soon, no siree George.
There’s been a definite lack of testosterone.
Joan says
Love it! And I love Michael Phelps!
Gail says
Oh my goodness, is that really George?? I totally thought it was a real girl. I wish I were curled up watching the olympics 🙂 And no, I would not work really really hard for an ipad. New technology tends to annoy me rather than tempt me.

Commenting from a hand-me-down iPad, and I'm not sure if I'd work for one. It's fun, but it still doesn't fold and put away laundry, know what I mean?
scmom (Barbara) says
I am so glad the guys are home and you can get back to the sofa. Whew.
In the episode of American Colony I watched last night, Claudia decided she wanted an iPad and broke the colony rules by getting a job outside the colony to pay for it. Unfortunately for her the job (waiting tables) was hard work and she got tired before she got the iPad. Moral of the story: you could wait tables to buy one but only if you want to work hard. Being part of a mixed couple — he has an iPad and I have a Kindle Fire — I say you get almost all the fun for a lot less work. I'll let you play with mine if you come and visit. 😉
minnesotamom says
Check your calendar, Barbara–it won't be long!
Diane says
Ok, wait a minute, doesn't Barbara live by me??? (or did i just dream that) Are you coming to my state, Maggie??? And you weren't going to tell me???
scmom (Barbara) says
That was mucho unclear — the Kindle is almost as much fun for a lot less work.
Too much olympic style stimulation. Good night!
sarah says
If there was an Olympics for cuteness, your boy would get the gold.
theresa EH says
Georgina,,you are just too darn adorable eh!!!! 😉
Sarah Oldham says
George is adorable! That picture has me in a fit of giggles.
Michelle says
My oldest just got back from Philmont last night. Happy reunion!!!!
The Road Scholar says
I would totally work a month for an iPad (in fact I did). I just did a blog post comparing the Kindle Fire to the iPad in case you are interested.
And thanks for the beautiful card. My husband always says that all things can be cured with chocolate. See why I love him?
