Heath Ledger is dead at 28.

January 23, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Current Affairs, Minnesota Me, Prayer 8 Comments

Are you as shaken by the sudden death of this celebrity as I am?

This is so unexpected, and so very, very sad.

Life is a gift. Life is a gift. Life is a gift.

I’m going to go pray now.

For my family…

And for his.

Ad Jesum per Mariam,

Yes, I am shaken. Thank you for mentioning this. A gifted young man. It looks as if the depression took over, as far as my guess goes. Praying for his family.

I have family members dealing with depression and drug addiction right now, and there are children involved. I’m very sad for him and thefamily he left behind.

I was sad for his baby girl that he seemed to love very much.

I know I shouldn’t make jokes about someone’s death, but when I saw the headline, my first reaction was shock…then I thought to myself, “NOW, who am I going to marry if Butch dies?”.

I had a HUGE celebritycrush on Heath Ledger. I never buy non-kid movies but I BOUGHT A Knight’s Tale! I felt almost naughty buying it just for myself! He had enormous potential as an actor.
The whole thing is so sad.

Yes, we are big fans of his and we were pretty rocked by it here. Such a sad, sad waste of a beautiful young life.

Yes, definitely. Especially since I had a relative who died under similar circumstances (a young man around the same age – accidental but alcohol related, rather than drug). So incredibly sad.

Yes, I was saddened when I saw it this morning. I can’t help but think of the state of his soul and pray for him. What a way to go, no warning, no way to prepare the soul. So sad.

I agree —-were angels around his side when his soul left this world. His choice to support and play in Brokeback Mountain could possibly have nothing to do with this—trouble falling asleep trouble with his girlfriend—I do not see a holy soul here and yes we must must pray. O Lord have mercy.

I was shocked, too. At first I thought it was an internet rumor until I saw it from reputable sources. He was so gifted, and only a few years older than me. I am praying for him and his family.
