6-year-old Cate likes to push Momma’s buttons by pulling the puffy, elastic sleeves of her dress down around her shoulders, like a showgirl. She knows better, but she also knows she’ll get a strong reaction from her mother,
every time.
“Now would Mary dress like this?” I asked her, taking the bait.
“No,” came the rejoinder. “Mary was a little Jewish girl. She didn’t have a dress like this.”
Did I mention Cate’s dad’s a lawyer?

Hee hee hee! I love it! If she argues so brilliantly at 6, begin to prepare now for when she’s 16!!
