I like to think of myself as the Evangelical Protestant voice on your Catholic blog, but I thought he was fabulous!

I was secretly hoping for an Irish pope. Oh well. The lord knows whats best. Couldnt believe how many kids could crowd around an ipod. We must have broken a record!

Hello Maggie! I broke my Lenten fast too (of reading blogs) on this BIG event!! Oh My Gosh – so many firsts associated with Pope Francis!!!

This is so exciting – he seems so comfortable, and humble, and sincere, and I admired his request for prayers before his blessing…. I know I'm just gushing, but geesh. This is exciting stuff! 🙂

Love and blessings to you and your family!

From all reports he sounds like a very excellant man for the job, but donot let the humble quiet fool you!! His fellow brother Cardinals and those who know him in Argentina have said that he knows how to kick you know what in defense of the Church!! 😉

Are we totally sure his namesake refers to Francis of Assisi rather than St. Francis Xavier, co-founder of the Jesuits? Haven't checked the news yet this morning, but am wearing my Francis of Assisi medal assuming the assumption is correct!

This blessed event was so exciting and beautiful – I have a peaceful feeling about our new Holy Father. I think it's amazing that the world still pays so much attention! Agree with the Church or not, it seems people all over the world still value his role as a moral compass for mankind.
