Cleaning the Classroom Update:

February 12, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Current Affairs, Give-Aways, Minnesota Me, The Faith 35 Comments

It’s a Give-Away!

I have an extra copy of Susie Lloyd’s Please Don’t Drink the Holy Water!

Would you like it?

Leave a comment on this post with…oh, your favorite American Idol contender so far (we are partial to Matt the piano player and Michael the oil rig guy) and I’ll pick a name in the morning.

Or leave a comment saying that you can’t be bothered to watch AI, and we’ll agree…to disagree. : )

*Updated Later to Add: Well, both our guys made it through to the Top 36! But man, could Simon have been any meaner tonight? My word, was he acerbic.

*2nd Update: We have a crazy morning of lessons & appointments. Silly me! I won’t be drawing the winner’s name this morning! The new deadline for entering is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

I love love love that book!!! I’ve read it twice so far. But I also already have it, so I won’t put my name in the drawing. I can’t wait for her next book!

I’d love to win! I haven’t had a chance to watch ANY Idol this year. It’s not that I don’t want to, but more like it hasn’t happened yet. We are starting Season 3 of Lost and watch it any chance we get. I’m sure we’ll start watching soon, though.

Can I win, please? I haven’t heard of the book, but I’m guessing it probably isn’t for adoration time? 🙂 Anyway, as far as idol goes, I’ve seen a bit of it, but I don’t know any of the contestants yet. I don’t really start watching it until the “real” competition part begins.

p.s. the 22nd still looks good.

Well, I’ve only seen one or two episodes–even though I do enjoy all the drama– but last night I was really impressed with the quality and timbre of oil-rig-guy’s voice! Hope he goes far.

I have a hard time with this part of idol- it’s just too annoying!! I’ll start watching when they narrow it down to the good people. I’ve always wanted this book though, so I’m putting my name in for that! Thanks!

I usually start watching idol at about top twelve so I don’t have an opinion but I would love the book! Actually, I think I’ll go with the oil-rig guy, just on principle.

I would love to read that book. All of her columns I have ever read were great. We don’t watch TV (except for sometimes LOST, but that is mostly on the computer) so I have no idea about AI contestants.

Um… we don’t have a t.v., so I’ll have to abstain on voting for a favorite. I do, though, read a lot in my spare time… I’ve heard of this one, but haven’t read it yet; I’d love to!

Hmmm – I would love to win this book. But I don’t watch American Idol, 24 anyone?? 🙂 We LOVE 24 and Jack Bauer… do I need to duck Margaret? However, while we have a TV, we don’t have cable so we either watch through the fuzzy bunny ears or watch previous seasons on DVDs. We used to watch Heroes and the teens are still watching it – usually through instant watch on NETFLIX.
Best of luck to one of us and best of luck to the American Idol contestants…

I’ve never seen American Idol but I do have a great friend (another Catholic HSing mom) who gives me lots of updates on all the great TV I’m missing. I’d love to read the book.

That looks like a great read.

I can’t remember the last time I watched AI. Since I work during primetime, I’m EXTRA choosy about what I make the effort to tape. And only two shows currently make the cut, Fringe and Supernatural.

I have always wanted to read that book! thanks for this give away- so generous and thoughtful of you!
As for American Idol, it looks like so far, just you and I are really into it!!! ha ha!! I tend to think it is a great way to drift off from a bit of reality for a while, huh?! Well, until the baby cries- which was 4 times tonight during this episode!!! ahh!I am rooting for Michael the oil rig guy and Anoop (I think thats how you spell him name!)
    Thanks again, God bless, Mary

I don’t have cable either, and Fox rarely comes in anymore so I haven’t even tried to watch AI this year. I’ll have to look into when it’s on and see if it will come through. But since I don’t watch much tv I should have time to read a good book! Thanks for putting me in for it. Glad to see you back online 🙂

I have only seen bits and pieces of AI and I can’t carry a tune in a bucket, but I would still like to enter. Also, given the title of the book, I do have something in common – my favorite reality show is Top Chef! Thanks and God Bless!

I’d love to be entered in for the drawing. We don’t watch AI, but we’re into the Biggest Loser. On Ai, after Carrie Underwood, the others just seem to fall short:)

I’d love to win Margaret. I’ve never read the book but I’ve heard it is good. I don’t watch AI but not because of some aversion to TV. Just not that into it. I am a HUGE fan of Lost though. Absolute junkie. In fact I need to check the spoiler site. Anyhoo, pick me!

Thank you for offering up this book! It sounds wonderful.

I haven’t watched American Idol this time around. I have nothing against it. Except that I can’t stand to hear Simon be mean to the participants. I love watching the re-runs of the finals. (Aren’t I bad? Laugh!)

Please enter me into your contest, too. (smile)

Thanks for the extended deadline 😉 Lost is on at the same time, so I have missed A.I. this season … To be honest, we usually don’t watch it until the very end anyway, when it’s down to the best of the best. So, I guess we’re not too loyal—sorry!

We watch American Idol. I admit it. I love it too, I admit that too. I really like it when it gets down to the top 12 though, because they are the ones you end up remembering.

I like all guys this time:
(I had to go to the website to get the names)
    Brent Keith
    Danny Gokey
    Matt Breitzke
    Michael Sarver
    Scott Macintyre

This book is too funny!! My mother gave it to me after my fourth was born, and I love when Suzie fantasizes about kids being older so that she can walk with one hand on her purse and the other one “dangling uselessly at her side.” HA! Can’t we all relate?

I don’t need the book, just wanted to share the laughter. (I’ve also been off the Idol bandwagon since season 1, go Nicky!)

Hope I win–I love a good Catholic book!
