The Gift that Keeps on Giving

April 26, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Gratitude, Hearth & Home, Keeping It Real, Minnesota Me 6 Comments

(Provided that You Open it the First Time)

You know that Christmas present from Grandma that’s been sitting in your basement?

That combination Family Game House (10 Classic Games in One!) and Children’s Game House (6 Classic Games in One!) or, if you prefer, that Casa de Juegos Familiares and Casa de Juegos de los Ninos ?

The one that’s been down there for half a year, practically, because you already have many of those games already and they are floating around in various stages of disarray and you break out in hives, practically, at the thought of adding to all that clutter?

The one that’s been nearly given away to Goodwill two or three times over (were it not for the begging and protests of your children)?

You know the present that I’m talking about, right?

Well. You may want to break it out on a snowy (yes, snowy) late April morning…

…because you may find a check for $150.00 from Grandma inside the box.

I’m just saying.

It may happen.

And in this house? It often does.

Ad Jesum per Mariam, (with several disorganized stops along the way),
