For All the Mothers

May 13, 2007 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, Motherhood, Prayer 17 Comments

Have I told you today that you are loved?

Thank you for what you are doing in your home. You do good work, you know, and many lives depend on your efforts.

You are the shining light of your family. Please remember that.

We have an expression around here: “If Momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy!” It’s true, and you & I know it. As the mother, our moods can make or break an outing. Are we smiling? Are we happy? Are we optimistic?

Are we leading our family down a saintly path?

We have tremendous power to change the world; diaper by diaper, dish by dish, lesson by lesson, and laugh by laugh.

Happy Mother’s Day! May your children be all that you hope and pray, and may your husband be encouraged and inspired by your example.

I don’t have the means to send you flowers. Here is a spiritual bouquet instead:

  • One Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
  • One Holy Hour
  • One Full Rosary of 20 Decades

Will be offered up for your intentions.

You can thank me when we (please, God) have a chance to catch up on things in heaven! ; )

“It is only in heaven that we will realize how wonderfully God made use of [our] labor; the multitude of small duties, the daily acts of self-sacrifice, the acceptance of pain, offered to the Father, poor worthless metal transformed by God into Gold for others, that pure gold of love enriching others and ourselves.” (Elisabeth Leseur)

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

Happy Mother’s Day, Margaret and thank you for these sweet prayers. I will be joining mine to yours today for all us mothers! Beautiful rain drenched roses!

As for the mother’s mood setting the tone idea, I’m trying to remember which poem it is in…I read it in highschool and it was something like, “The loudest thing in the car was mother being glum.” Ha!

Margaret, I am stopping by amidst crazy relative-visiting up here in the Big Apple to wish you a lovely Mother’s Day!

We have that exact saying hanging in our kitchen. A pertinent reminder for me, everyday…

God Bless you, my dear friend, thanks for the prayers, and hope to meet you this side of heaven, too!

Happy Mother’s Day, Margaret!!! It’s so true about mother’s and how their moods influence everyone. I try to remember that but I’m a miserable failure. It makes me think that my children are so much closer to God. They, like God, always open their arms to me.

We still have to pray our evening prayers – you’ll be remembered in turn…
