When we found out in March of 2000 that we were expecting, I flipped ahead 8 months in the calendar. “The Feast of the Presentation of Mary,” I decided. “That’s the day I pick.”
And so it came to pass (to our great joy) that Mary’s special little girl arrived on Mary’s special day. My first girl! You have led us into a world of pink and purple; a land where Little Ponies & Polly Pockets play in peace.
You are sharp as a tack and soft as a kitten. You’re my Maria Catherine Rita, and I love you with all my heart.
