Ask the Blogger

November 8, 2015 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Blogging, Just Me, Keeping It Real, Minnesota Me 12 Comments

This is probably as lame an entry as you’re gonna get, but really. Before agreeing to my “30 Posts in 30 Days” lunacy, I should have taken into account: 1. Who writes blog posts on a Sunday?  and 2. Who READS blog post on a Sunday?

Lindamoods! III

Not me! I’m too busy huggin’ my kids.

So today’s a gimme, as in, gimme what you got.

Is there a question you’d like to ask me? Or a blog post that you’d like to see written?

Yes, my husband snores occasionally.

No, I never did finish my conversion story.

Yes, I do sometimes blog instead of mopping my floor.

Anything else? Go on!

Just ask. : )

That’s what this Italian wanted but had me a sandwich, cookies and tea. Lame but good.

Last comment wa at 11.09 pm. My clock in Ks says 5.17 pm which might be Rome’s time. Is that correct? Just curious.

I think the settings are off on my blog, Joseph. I need to look into that.

I’m not blogging from Rome, is what I’m saying!

Your blog might be set to Universal Time Zone. I recently learned about that when I was getting reminders from the chiropractor and the appt time was definitely NOT the time of my appt. I think apple devices automatically use univ time unless changed.

I JUST changed the settings, sweet friend, and now it corresponds to the time on my computer! Yay! Go computer-savvy me! 😉

What did you buy at Candyland? I work downtown and often buy their popcorn, but rarely buy candy. Any recommendations?

How is your oldest son liking college? And how does it seem at home without him there? (Sorry–that’s two questions, but they are related!)

This may not be what you had in mind for questions to talk about, but I’m going to toss it out there anyway.

I am ridiculously introverted. A couple of weeks ago I bolstered up my confidence and went to a women’s group event at my church. I spoke to a whopping total of 1 person and then I slunk of to a seat to wait for the speaker to start. I just don’t know how to keep a conversation going with a complete stranger.

We moved here over a decade ago and i have made 0 friends here. The people I consider my friends are people I have known since childhood. Surprisingly this hasn’t bothered me until recently. I’m just starting to feel like my kids are missing out on something that “normal” people have, you know, family friends that we visit and hang out with. The hubby has been just as content as I had been to be loners.

So I guess my question, after that long winded paragraph is, how do you make new friends? I mean really throw me in a group of strangers and I just turn mute. It feels very awkward. You seem to be the very extroverted easily make friends sort. I have no idea how to make friends as an adult. What tips do you have for socially awkward introvert that want’s to make a change for the sake of her equally socially awkward kids?

If that’s a little more than you were hoping to be asked I’m sorry. Should I have just asked a lame question about the weather by you instead? We had our first frost today…brrr… 🙂
