Angela received a Leapster Explorer for Christmas last year. She loved it to pieces and then it heartlessly broke.
Electronic toys will do that to you, won’t they? They are fickle friends for sure.
Eventually (as in months later) our little blonde brownie received a replacement on her birthday. This was, of course, to her incredible and ecstatic joy…and was my Number 1 choice for a gift because she has countless game cartridges sitting unused in the drawer.
I can be practical like that. Practical and desperate.
I told her those cartridges were sad & lonely, just like Buzz & Woody in Toy Story 3. “Mom,” said my practical Felicity with a sigh. “They’re not real.”
Do we really know that, though? I mean, really?
Anyway, I thought I was buying her an upgrade for her birthday when I purchased her the Leapster 2. However, I was WRONG. I gave her a version that was INCOMPATIBLE with all those games, and they continued to sit sad & lonely in the drawer.
Fail boat!
Well, I am here to tell you that today the tide has turned for my daughter. Version II has been replaced…and my little Miss could not be happier.
(Don’t worry. I enforce strict time limits for how long she can play and all that.)
(Except on Fridays.)
(When I want to blog.)

But does it make noise? I love the electronic game machines/teachers only if they can be very very quiet. Happy playtime to your sweet little brownie!

My 7 year old is now saving for this game….we talked her into it because it's cheaper than a DS and at a buck a week….let's face it, it's going to take her a really long time anyway!!!
