Inspired by a sudden love for all things Woody, George finally agreed to ride his horse.
(You remember, perhaps, when he refused?)
Hey, it’s only been since Christmas.
Updated to Add: Yes, that is I doing the narration. I apologize for the volume control issues during the “Woo-hoo!” segment. Also, the nursery rhyme in this video is one of my favorites and is fun fun fun for your little ones. No squeaky riding horse required!
Put your toddler on your lap and have him/her take the reins (i.e. your hands). Bounce them up & down on your knees while chanting:
“Horsey, horsey, don’t you stop.
Just let your feet go clop clop clop!
Tail goes swish! Wheels go ‘round!
Gitty-up, we’re homeward bound!”
(Knee-bouncing continues.)
(Neighing and bucking are optional.)

Ride 'em cowboy! Hope he loves it now. We have a Buster too. But ours is 50+ years old (restored by my father-in-law). Funny how little they've changed.
I have to ask — is that you talking to him? It's so funny to meet people online and even see pictures, but have no idea of their voice!

That's his nanny, Elizabeth!
(Only teasing. Yes, that's me.)

Ha! Thanks for the laugh, Theresa! I was so thrilled that George would ride his pony that I didn't really mind the squeaking. Now that you've mentioned it, though…

Aw. So cute! And it's lovely to hear your voice, Margaret. You sound just like I thought you would.

I agree that it's fun to hear your voice… but unlike Melanie B. you sound nothing like I thought you would. But then I remembered you're from North Dakota and it made sense!

I half expected an America's Funniest Home Video ending to this clip…
… he's lucky that he didn't go head-over-heels – literally!
Thanks for sharing.

I know it sounded silly to ask that question — who else would it be? But it just reminded me that I have no idea what most bloggers I read sound like! I may see pictures and know their "voice" (in terms of writing), but not their actual voice.
We sang the same nursery rhyme, but with a slightly different tune.
There's of course the standard Pony Boy, although I only ever heard the chorus (before looking it up). I'd imagine that could go with a Buster ride. (How did I miss that Bruce Springsteen repopularized the song in 1992 with a variation on the words?)
I learned a different "riding tune" one from my sister that is fun for toddlers/babies on your lap –"This is the way the ladies ride" — with gentle bumps, then gentleman (bigger bumps), then cowboys (rollicking bumps).

I didn't think it was a silly question, Elizabeth–I just like to tease.
Which you know.
Already.
