Cate came downstairs in a pair of her little sister’s pants, which on her became a kicky pair of white capris.
“Those are cute on you,” I smiled.
“Thanks! They’re Felicity’s but I couldn’t find any of mine so…”
“Cate,” I admonished. “What happened to all those clothes that I just bought you from Gymboree?”
“Well,” she shrugged, “I put them in the hamper when they got dirty…and I haven’t seen them since!”

I cannot tell you how many times my husband and I have thought we needed to buy the children new clothes when really I just needed to do the laundry.

Gosh, sounds like my house too!! It’s hard, we have shorts and pants in the wash now and there’s just so much of it, and SOCKS!!!
It is hard enough trying to schedule school, I forgot to schedule in laundry!!

At least she’s resourceful!
I just put my 3 years daughters knit capri’s on my 7 month old son for Mass yesterday. And…I swore everyone that saw me do it to secrecy. My 3 year old would not have been impressed.

Reminds me of my mother. 🙂 Because of her, though, I’m pretty diligent in keeping the laundry moving. In fact, the kids are even pleasantly surprised now and then to wake up and find the same clothes they wore yesterday all ready for another go!

Thanks for the laugh. This type of conversation happens here a lot on Sunday morning!

So that’s what happens! My son had a similar realization last week . . . if the clothes in the hamper aren’t brought to the laundry room . . . it really doesn’t matter because the laundry has been forgotten.
These first few weeks of school are such an adjustment for all of us.
