Catholic Vacation Bible School 2008

June 23, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Family Fun, Minnesota Me, Special Events, Spiritual Growth 4 Comments

Subtitled: Off and Running

It’s that time of the year again. CVBS 2008!

I’m ready; I’m willing; I’m scared.

Not really.

Truth be told, our summer would not be complete without this whirlwind week of learning. Our parish does an awesome job of presenting the beautiful truths of our Catholic faith in a way that is as fun as it is orthodox.

This year’s theme is “Holy Mary of Guadalupe, Ever Virgin.” Do you think they’ll have piñatas?

Once again I will be in the nursery, caring for the infants and toddlers whose moms are elsewhere on the premises. Hopefully these littlest of saints will consider me a suitable replacement for their mommas—it’s only four hours, after all.

Right? Right!

So I’m very sorry but if you need me this morning I will be busy, wiping noses & bottoms & sticky fingers. I will be serving up juice & Ritz bits, and I will be singing Old MacDonald until the cows come home or the mommies return, whichever comes first.

Pray for us and we’ll pray for you.

We promise.

Ad Jesum per Mariam,

PS. Here are my CVBS posts from last year:

Ever wonder what all goes on in those Vacation Bible School nurseries?

prayers, Margaret! The little ones don’t know how very blessed they are to have such a joyful, caring mama looking after them!
will look forward to your posts about this week!
I’m assuming many cups of coffee are in order!

I will pray for you. I remember your post from last year. I still have one of those little kiddos, but our VBS doesn’t offer a nursery. We just drop the kids off and leave. It will just be my older two this year. Next year all three! A friend of mine down the road is going to pick up my kiddos and take both sets of ours, so I don’t even have to drive. Then, she’s coming over for some coffee. I’ll think of you while I’m sipping my second cup of coffee. 🙂 Do you still love me? LOL!

Gosh! I DO hope you have a chance to crash after lunch…movie days!

Our VBS was outside, so I did not feel (that) guilty staying inside in the afternoon to crash and watch a movie those 4 days!!!

    Have fun!!

I do have a favor though, where do they get the t-shirts? They are great!
