A New Blog on the Block
Jamie has long been one of my dearest, sweetest commenters, and now she has a brand new blog! Her innocence and love radiate through every post on Lord, Make Me a Saint, but don’t let that fool you. As the title of her blog affirms, she takes her faith most seriously. (And hey, she’s from Minnesota. What better qualification does she need?)
Here is one of my favorite posts to date.

This movie looks interesting. According to Bill Williams of Human Life International,
“God is moving throughout Hollywood. For the last two years, most movies that covered the abortion debacle have been decidedly pro-life. The new hero is one that sacrifices his or her own concerns for the sake of their preborn children.
In the spring of this year, Ben Stein goes for the jugular that supplies all the false ideology that fuels today’s rebellion against God and truth. He is taking on the establishment enslaved by Darwinism and exposing not only its improbability, but its dangerous intellectual suicide that refuses to follow the evidence where it leads and that of course is back to God our Creator. This is going to be a huge hit against the strongholds that have captured our media, science, universities, and culture.”

No Act of Kindness Goes Unrewarded
The EWTN Lenten meditation for today, “A Simple Gesture,” is very moving. We never know how or whom we’re helping. We just never know.
In Other News
We have a brand new boy scout! Joe passed his board of review at the pack meeting last evening and it’s official.
Not one to be outdone by his older brother’s accomplishments, Webelo Jem brought home a trophy from Sunday’s Pinewood Derby. First Place Overall!
We’re proud of our scouts, we truly are. They’re good boys. If ever you should have a lawn that needs mowing or a driveway that needs shoveling or even a little old lady that needs helping across the street, please know these boys are available for hire. (That little old lady would be free of charge, not to worry.)
Finally, Food!
Shivaun was good enough to send me her recipe for Curried Beef (as per the discussion generated by this post) and I have posted it at Come for Coffee. I haven’t tried it yet, but anything with curry is yum-o in my opinion.
And that’s that! Happy Tuesday of Holy Week, everyone! Remember:
make it count.

From my Scouting family to yours, congratulations! We have never regretted the time and energy invested in Boy Scouting. It has been fabulous for my older son (and my husband) and Little Brother is so excited to be a Tiger this fall, he can’t even stand it!

Wow! Thank you Margaret! You are the best and will always be my favorite! I hope you write a book someday.
Great trailer, can’t wait to see the movie. It is amazing how God is working slowly through Hollywood. People will listen to him that’s for sure.
Congrats to Joe!!
I have read that meditation before and get choked up every time I’ve seen it!! My spanish teacher in high school had a friend who killed herself, and when she came back to school, she told our whole class to always smile and say “hi” to people because “you just never know what it could do for them.” I use that motto, always!

Thanks for the odds and ends, Margaret- that movie looks very interesting indeed! I’ve always enjoyed Ben and he doesn’t hold back. I’m still seething that Mel’s Passion got no acclaim.
