On Our Way to Gaudete

December 5, 2006 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Anecdotal, Minnesota Me 8 Comments

More photos from the “Paint your Daughters’ Room a Sunglasses-Requiring Shade of Pink” series.

The title of this post was inspired by Suzanne’s hilarious comment yesterday. And Rebecca, to answer your question, I am not as patient as it may appear. Each of my children was allowed a few strokes of the brush because it’s just too cool–that tacky sound and feel of the paint as it’s being applied is not to be missed, especiallly when it’s one’s own room–but then I promptly shooed them away.

For us, the key to getting this room finished was:

  • 2-hour marathons of PBS Kids
  • And one much-needed overnighter for the kids at the home of my much-loved friend, Tina

With perks like these, my kids would be more than happy if I’d tackle the whole house!

Perhaps, but first I gotta find those blasted symbols!

What a beautiful room for Gaudete Sunday! I have a feeling your girls (mine too) will be all pink that Sunday, head to toe and their room to boot!

Beautiful! And that’s what PBS is for. It’s serves a very useful purpose. šŸ˜‰ I love the color. Was that a color you found, or something you mixed together and made yourself? I’d love to paint my girls room something similar in the future. Glad the job is finally done!

Jen: it’s Glidden’s “Checkerberry” in a satin finish.

They are so sweet, Margaret! When they are done, if you don’t mind, we have a little bit of work for them here in CT.

This pink painting looks like too much fun. We were going to paint Aslynn’s room purple (no advent reference here…gosh that was clever, Suzanne!), but this pure pink could sway me.
Love the photos of the girls at work (even if it was for just a couple of strokes!)

Karen E: No, I haven’t. Sigh. I have just ordered some lovely new felt pieces from Magic Cabin and will be making new symbols sometime in the near (or distant) future.

And as I soon as I finish making them, (you know the answer), the old ones will turn up! šŸ˜‰
