“I am the Immaculate Conception”

December 8, 2006 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Living Liturgically, Minnesota Me, Spiritual Growth 5 Comments

On this most beautiful of feast days, I wish you all

  • purity of heart
  • peace of soul, and
  • a true devotion!

I would also like wish our happy, holy 4-year-old a blessed Spiritual Birthday! (Baptized 4 years ago today!)

One quick story as to why this image of Our Lady of Lourdes is special to me. When I was in college and living in France, my friend and her mother took me to Lourdes for the day. This quick pilgrimage touched my heart in many ways, but one of the best consolations came when I was kneeling in prayer in the grotto. As I stood up, I saw that directly beneath me was a small stone marker that read: This is the place where St. Bernadette knelt to receive the apparitions. I felt as though I was a part of something so much larger and more mysterious than I could ever perceive in this lifetime.

May we all keep our hearts open to the miraculous! Have a blessed weekend!

I hope to go to Lourdes one day with my girls.
I felt as you did when I was at Knock, somehow you feel the presence of Christ and our Lady so strongly at these locations!
    Happy Immaculate Conception.
