Daddy Update

August 5, 2013 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Family Fun, Going Home, Health & Wellness, Minnesota Me 15 Comments

The Wedding in North Dakota Edition

I thought I would give you an update on my father, since we got to see him this past weekend.

Jon Wedding V

[Insert big happy smiley face here]

We went home for the wedding of my sister’s son…

Jon Wedding I

…also known as my nephew.

I have known Jon, gosh, since he was a baby and I didn’t have any. Now he’s a grown man getting married?

Jon Wedding II

That’s just weird.

Unfortunately these things do happen…time marches on, taking my eyesight and memory with it. [Note that I’m good enough to include wedding dress photos. That’s just a little service I thought I’d provide.]

Plus the bride was much better at posing than other people.

Jon Wedding III

I mean, really.

I think I’ll slap this one on our Christmas card, just to spite them:

You did the best you could, Hon. ; )

 Moving on…

I did really like this photo of my husband.

Jon Wedding IV

And I love this one of him and my dad:

Jon Wedding VIII

My dad complained about “looking like a shrimp” standing next my husband, so John did a knee bend to make him feel better.

Jon Wedding IX

I was like, what are you doing?

I am all about photographic integrity, I am.

So anyway, here it is–the update I promised–way back when at the start of this post. My dad is more or less cancer-free; at least, the doctor thinks he got it all and won’t need to see him for another three months. He is taking a prescription drug called tamoxifen but that’s it. No chemo needed. No radiation necessary.

Can I get an Amen?!

Jon Wedding VII

And may I give you a decade (at least) of thanksgiving? Thank you, everyone, for all your prayers.

That is so wonderful about your Dad. Nothing like a cancer diagnosis to send us back to our knees.
Hope you are well, dear sister. Anne

Love those pictures of your dad (AND your family). He looks great (as does your family — and you look fab). Praise God for his medical outcome. Praise God!

    Love ya.

PS what size is that baby wearing? — and he is just too cute.
