Happy Halloween Nini (and mom and dad and all the kids)!

Your friend Faith says you're her favorite little boy ever!

Oh. My. Goodness, Nini. You are growing bigger by the minute. Stop that right now! Give your mommy a hug for me, OK?

I can't believe how grown up your little man is! They grow up way too fast it seems. Our family is in RCIA, so this is our first year really celebrating things from a Catholic perspective. So far today we had donuts for breakfast and talked about the history of trick or treating while we ate them. Tonight we will talk about All Saints Day and how today is the vigil, and then we will end up with a prayer to St. Michael the Archangel before heading outdoors to collect the candy goodness. Tomorrow we will pray and go to mass, and I want to talk to each of the children about the saints who share a name with them (thank goodness our children have at least one name shared with a saint that we didn't realize when we named them, so this works out quite well for me). We are looking forward also to All Souls Day. We have plans to go to a local cemetery and pray a rosary, and to also take a picture of a headstone that each child chooses, and each child will pray for that person for the month of November, in addition to our family prayers for the souls of our loved ones. This is all so new to us, but so beautiful. I feel more connected now than I ever did. Any other traditions that you (or any readers) would recommend? We don't want to overload ourselves, but definitely want it to be meaningful for the children and get the message across to them, kwim? Thanks!
