Cheeky

January 24, 2013 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, Moments of Incredible Joy, Motherhood, My Boys 16 Comments

Okay. Is this not the face of a little boy who’s got his momma exactly—but exactly—where he wants her? I mean, look at those cheeks!

(Yes, I was trying to read a blog or two.)

Clearly this kid is getting the good stuff, if—ahem—you know what I mean. I’d just finished nursing when this photo was taken and frankly, little Nick is punch milk drunk.

That, my friend, is his life as it should be.

I’d like to say thank you for the comments yesterday, especially the ones (Lena…Betsy…) that reaffirmed my purpose in life. This baby is my vocation right now…the cobwebs and dust bunnies, not so much.

(They are loving my preoccupation, those cobwebs and dust bunnies. They are having a par-tay.)

More later? Maybe. For now I am rocking because this baby won’t keep.

He is darling, and absolutely creamy milk drunk. Love. 🙂

My college roommate once stopped over for a vist and we talked about how we stressed so much at keeping the house clean (as clean as our mothers' houses), and she said she had a lovely revelation one day when she realized her children (her husband divorced her) didn't give a fig if the house was clean. Not a care. It makes dirty floors and sticky counters a lot less worrisome. Just love that little man.

Absolutely adorable. And you're right…they don't keep. My littlest man is almost one! Yikes! He just woke up and refused to nurse back to sleep. He prefers just to be held…I don't like it. Where did my little baby go? Cherish every moment, because they are fleeting!

Beautiful baby. Who cares about cobwebs and dust bunnies in the grand scheme of things? Not God, that's for sure. Take care of your baby and let the older kids and dad help out for now.

He is so beautiful! Peter is 5 months and those pesky cobwebs are still hanging around! He is way more fun than dusting!

Especially with the last two children…probably my age & realizing that each might be the last…I've especially enjoyed the baby-ness of each. Hold and look and enjoy, because yes, it does go way too fast. Oh, I still stress about stuff, but usually I'm reminded fairly quick of what is more important.

He is adorable. Makes my little guy look so big!

Nice blog there Minnesota Mom. I enjoyed reading it. Cold here in Wisc. and I am from Austin, MN and go to the lake near Willmar in summer. Started my blog on my caregiving experience taking care of my parents after they both passed a while ago. Came home from Denver, CO to take care of them. So, do you eat hotdish and say the word "oh ish" is something is gross? 🙂

He's adorable! And you are doing just what you need to right now. Dust bunnies are always there, but this sweet baby time isn't.
