The “Slice of Summer” Edition
Summer salads are pretty, don’tcha think?
I found this recipe in Taste of Home and will post it on my narcoleptic cooking blog when I get a chance.
(Never mind! Found it online!)
(Here it is. Aren’t I lazy?)
Pretty, too, is this rose from my husband’s Marian garden.
I stopped to smell it but it…didn’t.
Oh well.
Speaking of gardens….do you remember the one my family planted for Mother’s Day?
It’s gotten massive!
It’s, like, full of food!
You could say, “Is that your garden?” and I’d scream, “Yes!”
But that’d be unladylike.
So I’ll just nod and grin instead.
Sometimes it’s too hot to stay outside for too long, so on those afternoons we play Mass instead.
Today George informed me that I was not to tell him that he looked cute. Priests are not cute, in his opinion.
I was also instructed to stop hugging the altar servers.
Then, when we grow tired of the more edifying games, we take turns having fun with our photos on PicMonkey.
At the expense of the folks who aren’t playing along.
Yesterday George fell asleep during Story Time. “Can you take a picture?” I asked my husband, thinking, “Yay! Another baby bump photo to share on my blog!”
The thing is, including the baby bump is not intuitive for guys.
It just isn’t.
So I asked my daughter Cate to take a picture, too, and in that one you do see my baby bump.
Along with the wrinkles.
And dark circles.
And…yeah.
Visit Like Mother, Like Daughter to see all the links for this week’s {P, H, F, R}, and come back tomorrow to find out the winner of yesterday’s give-away. There mighty even be another chance to win…if you’re lucky…and I’m pretty sure you are.

That rose is practically without blemish. How beautiful.
George's vestments! I love seeing families who have priest vestments for their little boys too. I'm blessed that my grandmother makes priest vestments, so she fashioned some out of leftovers for my little guy. I'm thinking about getting a mass kit for him this Christmas, but they're kinda hit and miss. Have you ever seen the video on A Thing Veil of his son saying mass? Too. Cute.

I like the Matrushka dolls–are they measuring cups? Just saw a Matrushka kitchen timer at Target this week.

Do tell where you got the vestments for your son. I've been hunting for some for my little guys, but haven't been able to find any.
