Weigh-In Wednesday

January 25, 2012 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, Weigh-In Wednesday 8 Comments

I. The Test

I have still not gotten my cycle, though I have since burned through all three tests in that Clearblue box. Weirdness! Perhaps I should change the name of this blog to Perimenopausal Mom.

Now wouldn’t that be fun?

Still my baby! Still my blessing.

II. The Scale

Here’s a link to the photo from this morning. I’m sorry for not being much of an inspiration this week! I know what to do to lose the weight…have just been too busy/too tired/too cold to care.

I do care. It’s just that being busy and being tired and being cold sound like really good excuses right now.

III. The Life

Yes, we’re busy. We’re really busy. We may even be Too Busy.

Homeschooling, basketball, Boy Scouts, American Heritage Girls (I’m a leader), housework, husband time (still going well), me time (not going as well) and not one but two kids preparing for new sacraments this year. In fact, Angela makes her First Confession tonight!

Will you say a prayer for her? Thank you, my friend, in advance.

My sister’s in town caring for her new baby grandson!
Seeing her & meeting him yesterday? HUGE blessing.

We are also gearing up to go home to North Dakota for my parents’ 65th Wedding Anniversary, and for reasons I have yet to reveal, that too is taking up lots of free time.

Except time isn’t free—it’s a gift and I’m grateful.

A busy life is still a blessing.

“The pure, simple, and steadfast spirit is not distracted by many labors, for he does them all for the honor of God.”

The Imitation of Christ, Chap. 3

Happy Wednesday! Let me know how you’ve done.

eh . . . let's just say I did "not so well." I didn't gain anything, but I didn't lose anything either. In fact, I did a whole lot of nothing which is why I suspect I didn't lose! 😉

But I am better than I was a month ago . . .so onward!

Praying for you and your Angela. My oldest son received First Confession on Saturday. An amazing day.

    God bless,

You've been on my thoughts and in my prayers, glad to see a post 🙂

    It's very easy to carry some extra pounds with a wonky cycle just as it is normal to gain when premenstrual. And, try a different brand, try several different brands. False negatives happen (due to testing too early, different women's hormones rising at varying rates etc); false positives, rarely. With a cycle that veers off your normal curve, ovulation can occur much later than you think it ought to have done; or, twice. So … hang in there! {{hugs}}

    blessings and prayers for Angela!

Not my best week. I'll blame the lemon meringue pie. Up a pound since the last weigh in. It was worth it. I love lemon meringue pie 🙂
Company is coming this week. I don't imagine it will be a good week for weight loss either….
Prayers for Angela and her busy, tired, cold Mom.

Hey, I lost 20 lbs!! (since baby came out) but it's these last 30 staying the same for the last 2 weeks. Don't you just love how those first 20 fall off without doing anything? (water weight)

About time to start Weight Watchers for me!

You've been on my mind and in my rosaries.

I hope you have a wonderful time at that exciting Anniversary, God bless them!!

I hope your cycle question is resolved one way or another. I'd be popping into my doctor, but I am a hypochondriac! 😉

Many blessings to Angela. She is so lucky to be part of such a beautiful tradition.

Your sister looks far too young to be a grandmother. Such a sweet little baby … as is your own baby boy 🙂
