Misbehavior…or Mad Science?

January 17, 2012 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Keeping It Real, Minnesota Me, My Boys, Toddler George 9 Comments

Well, it’s happened. My two older sons have gone back to school after a four-week break. The reason they had such a long vacation, by the way and because I know you are aching to know, is because the last week of break is “project week”.

Seven days devoted to industry. Not once did the boys stray from their assigned task—not once were they distracted by neighborhood friends or handheld gizmos. Not once, I tell you!

(80 times maybe, but not once.)

Jem made a beaver lodge…

And Joe wrote a paper:

What? It’s an action shot.

George, of course, being of sound mind and stubborn genes, was not to be outdone by his two older brothers. He did his research in the realm of food science, wondering, as it were, what would be the effect of an entire bottle of hot sauce upon a side dish of vegetables.

He’s pleased, I think, with the results. Such mass! Such density! Such color! Such smell!

Did his teacher try it? She did not.

She served it instead to the headmaster.

Ed. Note: Apropos of next to nothing, I have not taken a test yet.

At least we'll try. But it's driving us crazy. Is that weird?

Ok, so I guess I was the only one who didn't want to put any pressure on you and comment yesterday. I refrained…but still I was thinking…check back today and EVERYONE else has commented!

But surely, you won't keep us waiting!!?? Could this all, perhaps, have anything to do with that post back in December and the Gift of the Magi?? Just curious. Since that post sparked interesting conversation in our home, I've been awaiting the next installment. Maybe that post will write itself in the form of lines on a test?? lol. Will be eager to see.

Ha. That's the sound of you ladies making me laugh. 🙂

I do owe you another post on the Gift of the Magi for Modern Women, don't I. My husband and I have certainly changed some of our habits for the better and my goodness, the blessings just keep unfolding.

(Still haven't taken that test, however! Ha! Still laughing. 🙂

You are such a delight 🙂

On the other hand, you leave me like Sarah, breathless with impatience. And like the other Sarah, I didn't comment on the previous post in order to be discrete … but heck, take the test! 😉

Truly, I'm not trying to be mischievous here. (Who, me?) The MAIN reason I haven't taken a test yet is that my friend buys them in bulk and will be giving me one when we see each other tomorrow night.

And that's the rest of the story.

    Except when it's not.
