Uncapped Markers

February 11, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Homeschooling, Keeping It Real, Minnesota Me 6 Comments

Are either paving my way out of purgatory…

Or into it.

(I’m cleaning the classroom. Can you tell?)

Just found some of those in our marker box yesterday. The caps were with the right colored marker, but just not snapped on tight. I tend to look at markers as an annual expense. Hope they weren’t the permanent kind!

Oh, that brings back memories of cleaning out the “supply box” that was the gathering place of all used markers, colored pencils and assorted crayons. By the time I was through, I had a piece of paper that looked like a rainbow after an LSD trip from trying out the markers to see what was good and what needed to be pitched.

Enjoy your purging – it always makes me feel better and I hope it makes you feel better too.

LOL! I suppose my classroom gets “cleaned” now whenever I clean my kitchen — but somehow the “classroom” stuff never seems to completely leave the table! Does anyone else ever wonder where all the paper comes from? I swear it multiplies once it comes out of the package – kind of like cheerios used to whenever they hit the floor when my boys were little… 🙂

Or how about the almost capped ones.

David has figured out how to take the top off of markers, and the kids always leave the marker box at the edge of the table where his little hands can fumble through and pick one out. I spend most of my days chasing him with one in hands, and cleaning up the ones I didn’t see him with.

This made me chuckle when I read it again today. My class was cleaning up before our February break, and lo and behold what did we find????? UNCAPPED MARKERS!!!! I had a good laugh when I remembered what you wrote Margaret.
