And One More for Good Measure

May 20, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Felicity, Minnesota Me 4 Comments

Subtitled: Our Budding Etymologist

Felicity (on the way home from baseball tonight): “I know why a fruit roll-up is called a fruit roll-up. It’s made of fruit and it’s rolled up.”

She paused for a moment thoughtfully.

“But I have no idea why a house is called a house.”

LOL!!!!! So, so, so, so funny!!!! I am grinning out loud. 🙂

And it reminds me of my favorite Beanie-ism from age 3 (sob!). I was reading her a Dr Seuss book, and she was cracking up on every page. Me: “There’s a nureau in my bureau.” Bean: “A nureau in my bureau, DAT’S funny!” Me: “There’s a wasket in my basket.” Bean: “A wasket in my basket! Dat weally funny!” Me: “And a woset in my closet.” Bean, puzzled. “A woset in my cwoset? Huh. Dat not funny.”

You both crack me up!! (I’m still laughing from Melissa Wiley’s comment)

My Ballerina Rosie I think is around the same age as Felicity and she lately has been driving me crazy with the “why is a van called a van? Why is milk called milk?”

It must be their age, huh? (she’s almost 6)

That is really funny. I love the house comment. My husband just posted about our 3 1/2 year old telling us what words mean. http://werdfu.blogspot.com/2008/05/trevvy-logic.html.
I really enjoy reading your blog, thanks for writing.
