…is loving the convention.

Are you watching? Are you with me in cheering Sarah Palin on?

Updated to Add:

  • You gotta just love Governor Linda Lingle’s unapologetic reference to the Palins being the proud parents of five children and the grandparents of one on the way. In her words, “They are facing the same challenges every mom and dad are facing.” Exactly!
  • Wow! What a welcome we gave Governor Palin! Did anyone time that standing ovation? You are welcome, Sarah Palin! You are very welcome.
  • She is cute; she is feisty; she is articulate; she is smart. Sarah Palin is entirely capable of the office of vice president, and to see her standing there with her family at the end brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful role model for moms & politicians alike. What a class act is Sarah Palin.

Ad Jesum per Mariam,

*A tip of the hat goes to Erin for this photo and also for her unflaggingly honest and ever-smart blogging this past week. You are fighting the good fight, Erin, and I thank God for you.

Oh yes, Margaret! We’re here, glued to the television, sitting on the cyber-couch right next to you…(it’s just too bad I can’t figure out how to offer you some of my Chocolate Trinity ice cream over the internet! Yum!) I bet Kristen is watching, too, so between the two of you, you’ll have all the relevant states covered…

Virginia moms for Sarah!!! I am LOVING watching this woman give her speech. My PINK “Women for McCain” bumper sticker will be delivered this week, and I can’t wait to stick it on the old minivan.
    God Bless America!

What a different flavor we have in a female candidate than what Hillary offered the country. How refreshing!

I can’t believe people are taking issue with her about her daughter’s pregnancy. Now if the girl had sought an abortion – that would be ammunition!

I am so glad Sarah did so well tonight. She was well received and the media loved her!

Wow what a speech! She won me over. As I am watching the CNN commentary I am amused at their reactions —they are scared! And is it just me or does Campbell Brown almost seem to be gushing over Sarah Palin? 😉

Connecticut Mom here — can’t sleep — geared up from Sarah’s wonderful speech!! Agreeing totally with everything you gals have said! Just a touching picture of her family! I saw the Senator greeting her family at the airport, noted especially how lovingly he treated her daughter and the daughter’s finance – so reminded me of Pope John Paul II! Thanks Margaret for posting the picture! Nighty Night!

If I didn’t keep up with this, what would I talk to my mom and all you about? Just kidding. It really is the buzz of the day! I too was clapping at home.

I grew up in a family that was watched by the local citizens, and when I got pregnant while I was only engaged, oh the shock to my mother. We didn’t speak for a few weeks. How could I embarass my family like that? how could the Deacon’s daughter do such a thing?Well, I married the daddy, and my life and family has blossomed beautifully in the eyes of God. You’d never know it now. I can only pray for the same for Palin’s daughter. There is certainly no reason for outcast, rather room for moving on and stepping back onto the right path. When I see her and her boyfriend holding hands throughout that time, I see me – trying to show the community (in her case the world) that everyone makes mistakes and anyone can turn it into a blessing. I see Sarah like my mother, still loving her daughter unconditionally and excited about the future. Moving on. That was my connection today.

Ordered the bumper sticker/sign combo for $7 tonight, and added a “Catholics for McCain” bumper sticker for my minivan, to go over the spot where “Women for W” used to be.

By the way, did anyone else catch that adorable footage of her younger daughter slicking back the baby’s hair with her own spit!?

Thought of you this morning and figured you were loving it. I’m loving it down here in TN to be sure!! My hubby has been reading about Sarah Palin for almost a year now since he heard about an openly pro-life Republican governor in Alaska, and that was before little Trig was known to be on the way!

Sarah Palin is a godsend. She is a smart, witty, principled, and palatable spokesperson for the values so many voters hold dear. She delivers her message through example and without spitefulness, thank heavens for that. The MSNBC crew might keep digging to sully her reputation, but hopefully middle America can see her sincerity through all the spin and take her at face value.

My husband and I were glued to the tube. Thanks also for the link to the other blog. What a writer!

I loved everything… but my favorite part was the hair slicking. It was beautiful and it melted my heart.

I think Sarah Palin is super. However, what is with the names of her kids? Sorry but they are just a little weird. Sorry again I am more of a traditional kid namer!

Our whole family was watching last night – and if we could we love her even more now! I was so impressed with how well-spoken she is! And some of her lines were absolutely wonderful! What was the one about candidates who use change to further their careers, and then those that use their careers to further change? LOL! I don’t know if she wrote her speech, but whoever did was brilliant, and she gave it the delivery it deserved! I haven’t been this excited about a candidate in a long time… She’s everything I want for a role model for the little girls in this country… 🙂 (And taking the time to say that parents with special needs kids will have an advocate in the white house if she is VP made a big impression for us – and I imagine for all of our growing numbers.)

I’m not even a Republican and I loved Sarah Palin last night!!!

Christine – I agree that the names are unconventional and not to my taste, but I gather they are each after something Alaskan: Bristol Bay, Piper Airlines, etc. And I will say that I have heard much, much worse names!!!

The woman has who-knows how many assistants, a bunch of kids, spent 4-days getting ready for national TV, and her youngest son’s socks don’t match.

    She is one of us!

I, too, loved her little girl licking her hand and “combing” the baby’s hair, it was just adorable! It just made me think what a good example her mother must be for her, so gentle and sweet and loving.

I loved what I heard, but have to admit, with the new school schedule, I fell asleep and don’t remember anything after 10:01pm!

I love Palin! I am getting a wee bit annoyed at all the horrible stuff being printed about her and her family in the tabloids. Makes me want to email someone and chew them out. Heaven forbid we have someone decent in the White House!

Checked out where your husband took the kids on labour day and you are right – how cruel, just oh so cruel! I don’t think I could have resisted – that is assuming I were into white water rafting! Which I’m not – but I can still empathize with your agony at being left behind.

BTW – in reference to today’s post – I have a link on my blog to SCRIBBIT an Alaskan mum of 4 who writes about her opinion of Palin as Governor and hopeful VP!

I had been hoping/praying that Palin would be the VP choice all summer – but never believed we would be so blessed.

Wow, never thought I’d admit it, but you did first..I had tears in my eyes, too. And immediately began praying for her.

I’ve heard a lot abotu how she’s allegedly anti-Catholic, but really, I don’t care; she’s pro-life, she has a beautiful family, she loves her family and she’s ready to help lead our country. (We can worry about converting her later! Let me at her…we can go out target shooting or hunting and I’ll introduce her to her REAL Christian roots! lol)

God bless her…she’s a good woman. I want to meet her.

I am absolutely excited for this election … and I pray that the right people are chosen.

Sarah (it seems so many woman like myself are comfortable calling her) seems to be a wonderful person and a mom.

I can’t wait for the debates and most of all I hope she sways the negative watchers in her direction.
