Promises Kept

March 3, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Felicity, Minnesota Me, Motherhood 6 Comments

Felicity was the first one downstairs this morning and we had a nice half hour together. She watched me make a batch of scones, she practiced her “doubles” facts, she colored an octopus that I’d printed out for Angela (with my permission).

When she’d finished she slid off the stool and announced, “I’m going to go now! I promised myself that I’d play with Duplos today.”

I smiled at her remark and then, left alone as I was to my musings, I wondered…when is the last time I made myself a promise?

And then kept it with such glee?

I make myself promises all the time, just don’t keep them, like getting up early!! Wow, can I come for morning scones? You are amazing!

Thanks for the great example Felicity, I will try to follow through on my promises and get up early tomorrow, like your mama!

This is why I like blogging. You gals keep me wanting more.

I will promise to smile more – especially to my family.

Hey Margaret, it’s snowing here now. I hold you completely responsible.
Felicity sounds like a woman who knows how to take care of herself. 🙂

    A good reminder!

Most of my promises to myself involve cleaning out closets!
