What in the World

January 8, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Felicity, Humor, Minnesota Me 20 Comments

…has gotten this little girl so nervous??

Is it:

a. her father’s driving?
b. her mother’s driving? (No way)
c. the fact that they’ve just passed McDonald’s and are not stopping; or
d. none of the above

The answer is “d”, of course.

Which makes the next logical question, then, what’s wrong? The first person to guess correctly gets…oh, I don’t know. How about a free one-year subscription to this blog?

Best of luck!

Yeah, carwash…. All those suds being sprayed onto the van making it dark all of a sudden…..and then the loud noises of the sprayers as they rinse off said suds….and don’t even get me started on the brushes!

When Timmy was younger, he actually cried at his first carwash. Sweet thing.

Maybe Mom’s been pulled over (again) for speeding.

my guess is you are in the garage and are opening the door. She is trying to watch the door open.

    Hey, Ken…that was my guess!

I tried to back out my garage once without opening the garage door, first…kids were kind of nervous after that! They were always checking to make sure I didn’t hit the door, the wall, etc…

Is she sitting in a different spot in the van? (My kids get shaken up if they aren’t exactly where they like to sit everyday.) šŸ™‚

No, Jamie, you don’t have to pay. That was just me being a big smart-alecky thing.

I was thinking that she was on her way to the dentist because of the 8 cavities that she had last time…but then I remembered you just posted a cute pic of her there recently. So, I think she is wishing her godsister was around and they could play polly pockets, but I don’t know why she is so nervous.

Is there a bug flying around the car? I make that same face when there is one in my car.

    I have 3 guesses:
    a. knowing your willingness to drive anywhere if the activity is worthwhile, her expression is because this doesn’t…look…familiar
    b. You’re at the pediatrician for son #2’s checkup, and she’s not aware that she is not the victim this time
    c. You just passed Caribou, and she can’t understand why you didn’t stop

    How’d I do?

I’m with the car wash people. She’s actually pretty calm, albeit cautious. I had one who really cried and we had to give up car washes for a while. Then we told him that they were big Elmo arms (or Grover or Oscar, depending on the color) scrubbing our car clean. He actually liked going then.

Ok, but if we are supposed to pay, you would let me know, right? I love you and your blog and would pay!!!

I have another guess, are the windows frosted up? My kids look much more scared in a car wash, actually they are usually screaming!

May I say, I like the one from Anonymous: Maybe Mom’s been pulled over (again) for speeding.
