It is with great sadness that I am writing this.
I returned from a joyful evening spent with friends to a message on my machine from Matilda.
Our dear friend ‘Meg has lost her baby, a baby I only just blessed (in my humble, fumbling way), a week and a half ago.
To Nutmeg I say: my heart aches with you. I know you know I know how you feel…but that does not diminish the bitter “now” of what you’re experiencing.
You’ve a saint in heaven, though. Mission accomplished, my beautiful mother!
I am lighting a candle in his or her honor, and am asking this little one (whom I hope you’ll name) to meet up with my baby Rose and my baby Francis.
Together, they’ll see us through this.
Today, it seems, is a day for prayer.
If you all don’t me asking yet again, please stop by Life in a Nutshell and offer ‘Meg your condolences.
