“Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s…” (I Colossians 24).
It is my hope that should I ever be blessed with the cross of cancer, I may carry it with the spirit & strength and verve of my friend Tina. Her sister had a baby this past week…four states away. So what does a beautiful soul and attentive sibling like my friend do? Pack up her five kids and head down there, of course! (Her husband had to work and couldn’t accompany them.)
Hey, she was in between treatments! She just had to use the gas station restroom to give herself her shots!
I laughed out loud when Tina called me and jokingly proclaimed, “I rock!” because she does. She and God rock, you know? And the rest of us watch with wonder & thanks & yes, just a little bit of amazement.
