Is there anything more beautiful than the witness of Sisters?
This picture was taken on Wednesday afternoon (shortly after I decided against that Diet Coke) at a Little Flowers luncheon. The host? My friend Tina. The guests of honor? Two Carmelite Sisters of the Sacred Heart from Los Angeles, California.
The girls had a lovely time and, judging from the joy on the two sisters’ faces, so did they.
(Note: I am pretty sure that these nuns are always joyful.)
(They fill me with joy, in any case, every single time I see them.)
The sisters have been in town all week and will be speaking tomorrow at our parish. The event is called Go to Joseph and begins with a Mass at 8:00 by Bishop Piché. Here is a link with more information: Go to Joseph!
You can bet that my family has gone to St. Joseph with our current special intention, and you can bet that (God willing) we will be at this Mass. One of the best Lenten practices, in my opinion, is to be Christ for others and to see Christ in others. It’s so simple and yet, so very rich with possibility.
Have a blessed & beautiful Lenten Friday, everyone. Happy St. Patrick’s day, in advance, and a happy feast of good St. Joseph!

Yes, just beautiful. I am really contiplating that line about being Christ to others and just the idea of being Always Joyful. Hmm. Is it possible to get after naughty kids and still be joyful? I need to work on this.

I kept your husband and your family in my prayers to St. Joseph yesterday.
Having been in severe "underemployment" for 3 years, I know how hard it is.
God bless you all!

That's Sr. Grace Helena!!!!! My girls went nuts when they saw the Carmelites in your photo. "What are they doing in Minnesota!", they yelled.
Our family knows those sweet, and yes, very joyful sisters well. Sr. Grace Helena is so very special, I melt in her presence because of her contagious joy. Did she make you laugh? She's a riot!
Praying for your family….

Hi Margaret,
I think it's funny that I visited tonight and read two (!) posts with Southern California connections – this one with the sweet, beautiful sisters and the AHG one with a picture of you in a San Diego sweatshirt. 🙂
Our homeschooling conference is at their monastery (I think you call it that) and it is wondeful.
You should come out for a visit! 🙂
Love, Erica
