Food for Thought…and a Thank You

August 18, 2011 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Friends of the Heart, Gratitude, Just Me, Minnesota Me, The Faith 7 Comments

“Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest.”

Galatians 6:9

Ann left a comment on yesterday’s post via Facebook, saying, in part, that blogging my way through [some of the painful stuff] allows me to call on the Church Militant and my friends to give my soul the support it needs.

Isn’t that beautiful? Ann is beautiful…and funny and smart and all the reason I need to spend just a touch more time on Facebook.

But I digress.

Thank you for your kind words yesterday, everyone. That post felt very self-indulgent to me and—even worse for a would-be class clown—a bit of a buzz kill for such a sunny summer day. What’s the expression? “Laugh and the world laughs with you…cry and they leave to go read Dave Barry.”

Hacking down buckthorn is also good for the soul,

especially if you get someone else to do it.

But you didn’t leave…and your saying that yes, you understood, made a very big difference on a very bad day.

Thank you again.

You’re in my prayers.

Hooray for the Church Militant.

Hooray, indeed, indeed. You aren't alone in this either. You're just very brave to put it out there.

Yes, you ARE BRAVE. And we are praying along with you and for you. Will you pray for me too?

    ….cuz I kinda need it….;-)

While my words weren't with you yesterday, my prayers were. I literally started a comment three times, started crying (because of our family's loss 4 months ago) and couldn't finish. Bring on the beer (or wine) and we'll cry in them together.

Dear, I've been whining all summer long. Whining about the heat. Whining about my husband deploying. You name it, I've whined about it.

I agree about putting it out there. I wouldn't be able to make it far without the Church militant praying for me. Lots of great prayer warriors out there. Love you!
