Signed, Sealed, Slurped & Delivered

February 15, 2011 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Gratitude, Minnesota Me, Special Events 5 Comments

Today was such a very nice day. I ate too much sugar but still, it was nice.

Valentine's Day '11

This is the photo that we emailed the grandparents. (Sorry, Joe! That’s what you get for going to school.) Correction: this is the photo we emailed to most of the grandparents. My mom & dad don’t own a computer, so I had to come up with a different plan of action for them. Snapfish to the rescue! I ordered a 5×7 and had it processed at their (my mom & dad’s) local WalMart. And then I called my dad and asked him to go pick it up.

“It cost me 19 cents!” he told me later. Cheaper than a card, and it works in a pinch.

My favorite quote for the day came not from Angela but from Felicity this time. She noticed that a few of her candy hearts had…strange sentiments written on them. “One said ‘Text me’, Mom, and another said ‘Shake it.'” She shook her head. “It’s okay if I eat them, though. Those words won’t stay on my tongue.”

LOVE!

Plus it was 40-plus degrees outside, which is sunbathing weather compared to last week. If I never finish my “How We Cope” series, it’s because we no longer need to.

Cope, that is.

Happy rest of February! Are you planning your St. Pat’s day yet?

Actually I am planning our St. Patty's day…lOl. The plans are in my head though, not like I've changed the red hearts around to green clovers…yet.

Hope your St. Valentine's day was blessed 🙂

Per Barbara Curtis' Mommylife request for lurkers to come out of the closet, I'm ready to introduce myself : I'm Allison from AK and I've read your blog for several years! Last year, I gave up most of my Mommy blogs because they were too "perfect", but not yours. Wait. That sounds snooty. It's a compliment with all my heart as I've laughed lots with you, cried to hear of miscarriages, held my breath waiting for little George to arrive, and nodded my head at the struggles. We're practically friends. Except that we've never met! I even started my own blog last month, focusing on parenting kids with cystic fibrosis and stories of our conversion to the Catholic Church. OK, must get upstairs to brush small people's teeth … Happy Valentine's Day, Margaret! Warmly, Allison

It never occurred to me to plan for St. Patrick's Day this early, but now that you mentioned it, I think I will! I love your picture; it is hilarious!

Allison, thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself! Welcome, and it's nice to "meet" you. 🙂

PS. I had one other reader introduce herself via email after reading Barbara Curtis' request. I lost that email, alas, but if you're reading this…thank you, too!
