Aka The Great Minnesota Get-Together
As you read this, we are at the fair. Do you see us? I’m the one covered with powdered sugar and sunscreen; they’re the ones reeling and clutching my skirt.
The state fair is all about sugar, you know—sugar and grease and yet more sugar.
See this link if you don’t believe me.
Oh, and money. Let’s not forget the overwhelming exchange of bills that is the very hallmark of this event.
(We stopped by the bank on our way out.)
(Please don’t tell my husband.)
If you’d like to follow along with our antics, you may check out my Twitter page here. Otherwise, barring my sudden death by chocolate-covered-key-lime-pie-on-a-stick, I will be back with a recap on a later day.
Here are a handful of my State Fair posts-from-years-past, just to tide you over:

We’d love to hear from you!

You are a better mom than me. We only go once every 5 years or so. Instead we are taking care of the neighbor's dog while they enjoy the fair today.

Oh, I do hope you ate a corndog for me! With mustard please.
Michelle says
Boo-hoo. I'm a North Dakota resident now.

My fiance and I went last Friday. Tell me, do you give in and buy the bucket of Sweet Martha's cookies too? I could eat the whole bucket, it's so bad!

Margaret, we only go every 5 or 6 years — 3 1/2 hours is too far to drive every year just for the fair!
BUT no trip is complete without those yummy teeny weeny donuts!! Mmmmm…
