A Few Things About Me…

September 24, 2010 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, New Baby; Memes 17 Comments

…by George the Toddler

Typo Alert! Joe is studying his “8th Grade Catechism” through Faith & Life, not “8th Catechism” like I originally wrote. Woops! It’s a good thing my mom’s my editor!

[grin]

My mom said there’s a meme going ’round where you get to list lots of things about yourself. That sounds like fun! So, being the most insistent and persistent of children, I got my way when I asked if I could do it.

That’s a good woman.

Here we go!

1. My sisters, though sweet, are slightly fawning.

I don’t think I need to say anything more about that.

2. My brothers are big time into Boy Scouts.

Court of Honor III

This is my mom and my brother Joe. They are at his Court of Honor, where, despite his having earned several merit badges…

Court of Honor I

…she still needed to tell him to smile for the camera.

He’s a teenager. Smiling’s not cool.

3. I try follow my brother’s lead sometimes because he is, after all, my super cool big brother.

Wide-Eyed

How’s this? Do I look cool?

Or do I still resemble a Littlest Pet Shop puppy?

Sigh.

It isn’t easy being me.

4. Me and my bro hang around a lot.

Studying I

Here we are before he leaves for school. He is doing his 8th grade catechism online–again, at Mom’s request.

She can be insistent and persistent, too.

Studying III

Mom, please.

He hasn’t even combed his hair yet, and that’s not cool.

Or is it cool? I forget.

Studying II

Doesn’t matter. Moving on.

5. I like dogs, all kinds of dogs! I like golden retrievers, cocker spaniels, mutts and Littlest Pet Shop puppies (which I tend to eat).

6. I like markers! I think they have great untapped potential.

Trouble

Or should that be, uncapped potential?

7. I like to read.

First Day I

My favorite books are of the lift-a-flap variety, though Mom has a different name for them.

She calls them rip-a-flaps.

Which I resent.

8. My dad? He’s cool.

A little too stubborn for my tastes, however.

9. My dad and my siblings are all really great, but I prefer my mom to all of them.

I’m sorry but that’s just how it is.

My mom and me have lots in common. Like, we are both exceedingly fond of slurping on things–me on her and her on a cup of Caribou Coffee.

It’s a symbiotic relationship.

10. Yet–and yet–unlike my mom I don’t give a fig about comments…

Anthony (redo)

…and that means you’re off the hook with this post!

Have a great day!

Love,

George

What is it about the youngest children in large families? They are always so cute! I have a 43 year old brother…he's still cuter than a bug's ear!

I am a faithful reader, but don't comment often. But I just couldn't resist. Thank you for the chuckle this morning. So sweet.

Oh my gosh, George you are absolutely adorable!! šŸ˜‰ I'm amazed your siblings can get any schoolwork done at all with so much cuteness to distract them.

Oh, and thank you so much for sharing that link to the online catechism program! I've never seen that before, but it'll be perfect for my bunch!
