Pickle Week in Review

June 2, 2010 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Food and Drink, Give-Aways, Minnesota Me 11 Comments

And you thought I’d forgotten.

Well, I haven’t.

The winner of (2) (Count ‘em) 2 (!) bags of pickle-flavored Giants sunflower seeds is:

Jenny!

Please send me your address, Jenny, so that I can mail your prize and stop tormenting my sons, who keep asking for permission to Eat. Your. Seeds.

No, Joe, you may not have those. Sorry, Jem. Those are for Jenny.

(They are not liking these blog giveaways.)

Bday Dinner

International Pickle Week (and a half) was a hit, in my opinion, in that I tried a few new recipes and they were good—really good. The Bavarian Pot Roast, especially, was DELICIOUS.

You may find the recipe here. Thank you, Barbara, for the link.

I have not yet gotten to the deep-fried pickles, though trust me, they are on the list.

(Yes, I will serve them on a stick.)

Nor have I been brave enough to make Jessica’s recommended pickle sundae. Do you double-dog dare me? Because I will if you do ‘cause there’s a blog post there.

And I am just that dedicated.

Thank you, everyone, for sharing your recipes! We buy our pickles in bulk at Sam’s Club—aka the mammoth gallon jar—and we have been putting them to very good use.

One would think that I was pregnant or something.

That was the first thing I was going to comment on! I was thinking that I would need to be paying really close attention in the coming weeks for any more clues 🙂

BTW, love your new photo…so beautiful you are!

I wonder if I'm the only who finds a ten day "week" discombobulating.
