My oldest son asks to go to morning Mass. Splendid! Off I go with my bookend boys in tow.
After Mass (and feeling thankful), I drop him off at school and pop in a CD for the drive home. Andrew Pudewa. Good stuff.
Pudewa mentions John Gatto and his book Dumbing Us Down: The Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Schooling. I think of one of my favorite homeschooling moms. Think, “Wonder if she’s blogged about Gatto.”
Arrive home to reserve Dumbing Us Down at our library and to check Lissa’s blog for references to Gatto.
They’re there, in abundance, and I am reminded, yet again, of how thankful I am for Melissa Wiley. Homeschooling is hard during Lent and in mid-March, yet she’s got all the sunshine that our Minnesota weather (currently) does not.
Happy Friday!
