The Perfect Remedy for a Lonely Heart

August 22, 2009 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Just Me, Minnesota Me, Reviews 27 Comments

You’ve seen the movie Return to Me, haven’t you?

I’ve watched it, oh, maybe a dozen times. It helps me cope when I’m feeling lonely and makes me laugh when I’m feeling sad.

“Grace has Bob’s dead wife’s heart!”

(That’s the plot summary, yes, but it’s also one of my favorite lines from the film.)

Do rent the movie if you haven’t yet. Let me know if you like it.

I agree totally! Awesome movie! Such a good movie even for guys, I think. but more of a chick flick. Great movie to eat a bowl of ice cream, snuggling w/the lights off. Thank God for our husbands 🙂 God bless, Mary @ Cheerios

One of my favorites!! It holds memories for me since it was the movie hubby bought for me and brought home when we were 1 month married and I had my wisdom teeth taken out. Ha. How's that for fond memories? 🙂

This is my mother's FAVORITE movie. 🙂 She just loves it. When I was in Chicago I stayed at the hotel where they filmed the big dinner in the beginning.
I love it because it's a good transplant movie, and I'm all about good transplant movies. 🙂

One of my all-time favorite good-cry movies…how could it not be? I think it's one of Jim Belushi's best roles, and, of course, Bonnie Hunt. Love it!

I have to echo almost everyone else: love, love, love it!! One of my all-time favorite movies. I love the old men at the restaurant. I love Carroll O'Connor as Grace's grandfather. I love the Bonnie Hunt-Jim Belushi couple… *sigh* I may have to watch it tonight. :o)

Hand high in the air…me too, me too. Love the movie! I get all weepy eyed every time I watch it when the dad goes to the chapel to pray for his daughter. Ugh. Hits me hard as I know this tender topic will eventually hit my home with my hubby's prognosis (not a heart but might as well be). It is one everyone I've lent my copy to loves, not just chicks alone either. (LOL) Thanks for giving me the nudge to pull it out and watch it again soon. 🙂 Glad your break didn't last too long! hee hee

I'll chime right in–this is SUCH a heartwarming film. It is on my all-time fave list! I also love Bonnie Hunt's line to her husband, "Honey, we have too much rhythm!" in reference to the "rhythm method" as her many kids run around rampant. lol. Thanks Margaret for reminding me to dust it off and give it a good view! It's been awhile!

I'm a big fan of Bonnie Hunt. That's what initially drew me, but what a great story. My husband enjoys it too. In fact he bought it for me. It's good to be loved.
