Angela woke me at 4:30 this morning.
“I had an accident.”
Wearily I slid out of my bed and followed her bare little body into the hall. I turned to go into her bedroom—how hard it is to change sheets when one is half asleep!—when Angela whispered, “No, not in my bed. Over here!”
She pointed to the bathroom floor. Evidently she hadn’t been able to change out of her jammies fast enough—and who could blame her?—but still. She had already thrown her soiled garments down the shoot and all that remained was one small puddle.
Would that the rest of today’s problems be as easily wiped away.

Have a blessed Thursday, everyone! In all things may we be faithful.

Amen! I always say, “If the biggest thing I have to complain about today is [fill in the blank], I am truly blessed indeed.”
Have a great day!

We just had a similar occurrence in our house. I was very grateful for our tiled bathroom floor that morning.

I have laundry chute envy! I’ve always thought one would be wonderful to have.
You have a wonderful perspective today, Margaret! I’m remembering that as we deal with a tummy bug here.

We had something like that happen yesterday – only it was the cat – and it was our bean bag chair (which has now found a new home outside). My poor oldest was the one who found it — on the plus side, we were all inspired to clean everything — so the entire house is in order for the moment! 🙂 LOL!

Mother Angelica used to say that God gives you all the grace to get through the day, no more, no less.
I need to remember that when I’m washing the sheets that got wet in the night…

I really liked this post because it reminds me of how God’s forgiveness wipes away even the greatest sins, as long as I turn to Him with childlike trust and confess in simplicity: “I had an accident.” Whether small puddles or large drama, His mercy is infinite and wipes away everything, even in the middle of the night . . .
