David vs. David

May 20, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Current Affairs, Family Fun, Minnesota Me 10 Comments

So who’s it gonna be?

Who do you want it to be?

Up until now I have kept silent on the AI issue, preferring to keep my opinion to myself because, frankly, I had no opinion. I hadn’t watched a single show.

I’d remained aloof. I’d resisted.

And then one quiet spring evening three weeks ago, I gave in. My husband had the boys at practice and feeling curious, I turned to Cate. “What do you think?” I asked her. She shrugged and so we turned it on.

We were hooked.

Now keep in mind that I am not at all a prime-time TV person. I am usually running around the house just then—brushing teeth, washing dishes, and lamenting the 80 items that are still clinging stubbornly to my To-Do list.

TV was so not a priority.

Until now.

When Cate and I tuned in that evening, there were four contenders remaining. We loved Jason’s style and those eyes of his? Don’t get us started. Syesha had the most star power of all four but got a little too vampy for our tastes. In any case, it didn’t matter. We would soon be saying goodbye to both of them and now we wait…and wonder.

Who do you think you think we’re rooting for?

Do you know us, do you think?

Well, I DO know that both will go far, and in the past the stars from this show, do wonderful things!

I love them both. You know, it’s funny, we’ve been watching for a few years now and the top ones are always very nice people.

David A is such a nice kid, you would want him as your son, he’s so innocent and sweet. I think he still has that pure voice and will go far, but has a lot to learn and mature yet.

David Cook, my choice to win, a little edgy, a little rock. I like how he adds his own style to his songs. I like him!!

Who knows! I agree with you about the time though and how busy us mothers are at that time…we never really just sit and watch, it is a lot of “shhh, listen, now! Stop! Let’s watch this!” “Quick, go brush teeth!”

I can’t wait til it’s done though, I do dislike “having” to watch something!

PS you would have loved Brook White! (sweet, innocent, nice, modest)

David Cook-not for his looks b/c that David A is such a cutie and a sweet boy but….David C has an amaing GOD given ability to make music his own. So, David C is my guess.
    AM i right? Am I?
    God bless!!!

David Cook. He’s versatile. Talented and not hard on the eyes at all.

David A. will be picked up by the likes of Disney for a teeny-bop career – maybe put him on one of their shows (make one for him). He’s got what it takes to be a teen phenom now. His voice will be singing ballads for years to come (if he sticks to it).

I’ve not watched it either, Margaret. But, Doug and the boys are hooked and I have heard their opinions, like it or not. They say David C. has more talent, but David A. will win. They think he’s a hit with the teeny boppers who are using their cell phones to vote!

The show is kind of fun at this point — I don’t like the show early on, though. Too crass.

David Cook is our pick but I think David Archuleta may win. . .

I bet your rooting for… David? Ha! I haven’t watched a single episode, stubbornly avoid it, in fact. Have fun, though, and I hope your David wins. 🙂

I don’t care who wins (we were Michael Johns fans) but I will never stop hating David Cook’s hairstyle. Never.

I don’t think it matters much. David A. may win because he “can sing the phone book” “(he also had a better final night), but David C. sings with a lot of presence and heart (my thoughts). I am traditionially not a “rocker girl”, but I do think David C. ROCKS 😉 !!!!!

We were happy David Cook won too! But Husband is appalled we watch AI… 😉 Oh well–we never watch TV. This was fun.
