Feast of the Immaculate Conception

December 8, 2007 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Living Liturgically, Minnesota Me, Motherhood, Prayer 8 Comments

Father, the image of the Virgin is found in the Church. Mary had a faith that your Spirit prepared and a love that never knew sin, for you kept her sinless from the first moment of her conception. Trace in our actions the lines of her love, in our hearts her readiness of faith. Prepare once again a world for your Son who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Amen

Opening Prayer
Mass of the Immaculate Conception

Happy Feast, Everyone! Today is my daughter Felicity’s baptismal day. It is also one of only three Saturdays left before Christmas. Will I keep my cool? Will I be calm despite the many, many tasks that need to be finished?

By the grace of God (and not the assistance of caffeine) I will!

I pray we all have a beautiful, peace-filled weekend. Have an all-white meal tonight in honor of Our Lady’s feast, and know that you remain in my prayers in a special way. I have my weekly holy hour tomorrow morning early and I will be offering up my prayers for your intentions.

Assuming I’m awake enough to say them. ; )

Oh, and if you have a special prayer request, feel free to email it.

Ad Jesum per Mariam,

    Happy Feast Day, Margaret!!

I couldn’t find your email link anywhere so I wanted to ask for you to keep our very special intention in your prayers. We, too, yearn to be expecting again. Please pray for my womb to be filled with a child once again soon! I am praying it will happen during advent, you know, but that’s just me! Lol!!!
