Fraternal Love (of Reading)

April 3, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Family Fun, Minnesota Me, Real Learning 10 Comments

These photos were not staged. They were simply taken within the 24-hour period following the arrival of a new Tintin.

(I chose not to photograph the squabbles that occur in the van when these three are unable to sit together.)

Are your kids as obsessed with this colorful little man as mine? Personally, I’m not a huge fan…but given the way that these books change hands, it’s probably just as well.

Have a literary day!

Your problem would have been solved if you hadn’t bought the three-in-one volume. Then they could have read their own. But of course, the cost would have gone up as well. 🙁

I never read Tintin until I got married. My husband was shocked when he found out, so he took me to the library and checked out a couple for me. I like them, but am not excited about them like certain other books. I am excited, however, about the new Tintin movie.

I’ve never heard of Tintin! I’ll have to check it out online – I don’t get to the library very often. When is the movie due out??

    OH MY YES!!!!

My kids LOVE Tintin… especially the rum-drinking Captain Haddock.

    Aw, how sweet.

I can’t say I’ve heard of Tintin, though there’s a Japanese fast-food place near my office called Tin Tin. But that’s different.

What is up with Tintin?! My girls found these books at the library and just ate them up! I don’t much care for them, but perhaps I have poor taste in kiddie lit?

I haven’t heard of them before, but I’m sure my kids will love them. Are they in a chronological order? I wouldn’t want to start with anything other than the first one if they do or I would suffer the wrath of my oldest son and his love of book series.
