P.S. I Love You: A Review

February 11, 2008 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Minnesota Me, Reviews 8 Comments

I snuck away this afternoon to see this chick flick with a girlfriend. Such excursions are vital for us busy moms—not for the quality of the film, necessarily, but for the renewal of our spirit.

Consequently I am not going to say that you should go see this movie, for it is every bit the chick flick (as I’ve mentioned). And specifically because it’s a chick flick, this film expends much of its script on improbable romances between impossibly cute people.

There is also the occasional pratfall and a wee bit of premarital you-know-what.

Should you ultimately decide to attend this movie, I will tell you (in my opinion) that it is worth it, for these three things:

  • The spunk and the verve of the leading lady’s little sister;
  • The deep, flashing dimples of that second Irish guy; and
  • The line “We don’t realize what a privilege it is to grow old with someone.”

In fact, I’d say it was worth it for that line alone.

But that’s just me.

    I just saw P.S. I Love You yesterday and I couldn’t agree with you more! It’s the kind of movie I like to watch when I know I need a good cry and reminder of how important it is to cherish the time we have with our loved ones!

    Thanks for the info! I always see movies you suggest! (But sadly, usually wait until we can order via netflix!)

    Have you seen A Night With the King? Great movie, great love story and it actually made me read the story of Esther in the bible. It was a little more hollywoodish than say the veggie tale version of this biblical story, but a great love story!!

    I saw this a few weeks ago.

    I’m waiting for my new passport so I can book a trip to Ireland.

    It’s been so long since I’ve been to the movies. Glad you enjoyed it! I love a good chick flick. 😉

    Sounds like a good time to be indoors with a movie! The main Yahoo! headline when I opened internet explorer this morning was “The Icebox of a Nation. The temperature falls to a record 40 below zero in Minnesota.” Brrrrr! I won’t tell you what the temperature is here in Texas. 🙂
