Good News Bad News

January 24, 2007 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Anecdotal, Humor, Minnesota Me, Real Learning 5 Comments

The good news is: we have free access to the Rosetta Stone language program through our county library’s website (an awesome resource for an overworked teacher-mom).

The bad news is: the kids really like it.

As in,

Child #1: “It’s my turn!”

Overworked Teacher-Mom: “No, it’s not. It’s Child #2’s.”

Child #1 bullies his way onto the stool when Overworked Teacher-Mom takes a load of laundry upstairs.

Child #2 sadly enters Overworked Teacher-Mom’s bedroom.

Overworked Teacher-Mom yells down the stairs: “Child #1! Did you kick your sister off the computer?!!”

Child #3 calls back: “No, he didn’t! He didn’t kick her off at all. He pushed her!”

That’s awesome that you get it for free! We invested in the Chinese program a few years ago which is well loved by all the middles (my husband has been studying Chinese on and off for a few years since he travels to Taiwan rather often). I sometimes feel a *little* guilty for using it as a reward once they get their “essentials” done. 🙂

LOL, whoops. I’m sure Child #1 is really sorry and I hope that over-worked teacher mom gets some rest. :o)

And the good news for me is that someone else has children that might occasionally ‘fight.’ 🙂

Too funny. I thought my girls were the only ones who interacted that way!
