First Sunday of Advent

December 3, 2006 by Minnesota Mom Filed Under: Living Liturgically, Minnesota Me 4 Comments

From today’s “Prayer for the Morning” in Magnificat magazine:

“We urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, cheer the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient with all.

“See that no one returns evil for evil; rather always seek what is good [both] for each other and for all. Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing” (I Thes. 5:14-17).

Could there be a more perfect Advent prayer?

Happy First Sunday of Advent! I am so looking forward to this holy, 4-week season.

Blessings to you and yours, my friend. May the birth of our Infant Lord find in our hearts a beautiful manger.

Ed. note: I just looked at the calendar. Eek! Only 3 weeks of Advent this year!

Thank you! What a blessing to sit down in front of my computer with my morning coffee and read this! I especially appreciate the scripture from Thes. Blessings to you on this first day of Advent.

This post really hit home today. When I was drinking my coffee, I was thinking about my prayer life and felt the words in my heart, “Pray always.” Then I came here and read this!

I was thinking about that too – there’s only one day between the 4th Sunday and Christmas, right? Wow. The prayer was beautiful and so meaningful. Thank you. I have to tell you, Margaret, my husband reads all my posts and comments and you are his favorite commenter. I think you make him laugh.
