The Face of Four

The “George” Edition

We planned on doing a local water park yesterday, this despite the Arctic temps. (When the mercury hit 70, we knew we could do it. Still, the ol’ lips were turning blue!)

Normally, we don’t do the local water park…it’s pricey; we’re broke; you know the drill…but there was a free event last night hosted by several local realtors. Cool beans, right? Except last night it was more, Cold Berns.

Anyway, this post is meant to be about my 4-year-old, who had a meltdown an hour before we left and fell fast asleep on his sister’s bed. “You go with the rest of the family,” I told my husband. “I’ll stay here with George and Francis.”

Already I was looking forward to a quiet house and not having to shave. Such was NOT my Sunday lot in life, because George woke up right after they pulled away.

And he was cranky, too.

I scooped him up in my arms and walked back and forth, thinking, he just has to go back to sleep. His eyes were half closed, he was settling in, Maybe a movie on Netflix when he’s down…

Then BOOM! The little stinkweed’s head popped up and he asked, “When are we going to Cascade Bay?”

You can bet I knew better than to say, “They left.”

I sighed and got my suit on.

Sorry that didn't end up in a mama style fairy tale where all the little princes fall asleep and mama has a cup of tea and an ice cream sundae with a good movie.

    Maybe next time.

Awwwwwww, the story of our lives isn't it? It actually got to 80 here yesterday but then the sun went away and it was not warm anymore!

Hi, I have been following your blog for a while and really love it! I was wondering if you would talk about what curriculum you use and a little about your homeschooling day. My husband and I are seriously thinking of starting this year. Thanks so much and God Bless!
